Annual wage rise from Same Job, Same Pay to exceed $1 billion

New data from the McKell Institute proves that Same Job Same Pay has delivered enormous wage gains to Aussie workers without negative economic impacts, with total annual pay rises exceeding $1 billion.

And Hunter workers are benefiting from these gains- just this week MEU labour hire workers at Mount Thorley Warkworth Lodge won well-deserved pay rises thanks to Same Job, Same Pay.

Unfortunately our wage gains are at risk, because these are the same laws that the Coalition vowed to strip back in September last year.

Last week Opposition Leader Peter Dutton tried to claim he wouldn’t repeal the laws, only for Liberal Workplace Relations Spokesperson Michaela Cash to later confirm that a Liberal-National government would in fact review the laws and is open to reforming them.

If the Coalition has their way, these Hunter workers and many more will cop a devastating pay cut and lose critical rights and protections.

Don’t risk a Dutton government. Put the Liberals and Nationals last.
